About Cradleboard Curriculum
The Cradleboard Teaching Project is designed to provide four kinds of curriculum.
- Core Curriculum from a Native American perspective at three grade levels - (Elementary, Middle, and High School)- in five core subjects as listed below. In an effort to educate the general public as well as Electronic Powwow subscribers, each year we make more curriculum available for free at our website, while upgrading what we deliver to subscribers.

- Tribe Specific Curriculum is developed from within participating Native American communities, and is sometimes attached to a core unit if appropriate. Those materials which are cross discipline or stand alone, we offer as supplemental units at our website. Additional Tribe Specific units reside on our Science CD-ROM in its Additional Resources folder.
- Supplements are added continually as they are created. These unique materials are about a wide variety of subjects and are the kinds of units you seldom find in school. Click on Supplements to bring up a list, including Little Extras.
- Partner Interaction Curriculum is offered to subscribers, but not the general public. This curriculum is further supported by Discussion Boards and Chat Rooms in a private technology based environment whereby students get to know one another through interactive online cultural exchange.
Cradleboard Core Curriculum
The Cradleboard Teaching Project has created a library of fifteen text based volumes of core curriculum based in Native American culture. Seven of these are already available as interactive online units. One is available to the public at the Cradleboard Store as our main fundraising vehicle. The others exist as traditional school-type print and graphics curriculum units, waiting to be re-created as interactive multimedia units as time and project funding allows. Cradleboard Core Curriculum is available in five subject areas at three grade levels as follows:

All units are written as core curriculum from the point of view of Native American culture. Thus in geography we study ancient Native American trade routes and cities, the meaning of the Land as more than just real estate, the use of rivers, forests, and Mother Earth from a Native American perspective, etc.. All units are extensive and meet National Content Standards for appropriate elementary , middle school or high school levels. Most Cradleboard classes study one or two Native American core curriculum units per year.
